This is because it is necessary to heat up the object to the maximum operating temperature of 2000\u2103, which is well beyond the evaporation temperature of the fluid. Even though this is a lower pressure level than those of cold or warm isostatic presses, the pores in the object are eliminated and the object can be processed closest to the theoretical compressible density of the target object. For this reason, this system is also called the ultimate extreme processing equipment. The gas porosity and defects that are commonly discovered in a casting process are eliminated, and hot tearing susceptibility is reduced while the fatigue behavior is improved. With a HIP process, the creep life span of the object is enhanced, while it becomes more resilient in the face of fatigue, with a higher level of toughness.
